Stepping beyond the comfort zone

“The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why” – Mark Twain. So do you know why you are here? If not, would you like to know?

Monday night was date night and my husband Grant asked me a good question, “So what are you wanting to achieve this year?” Of course it got me thinking, as all good questions do.

My first reflection was that a brand new year seems so much more significant than a brand new day, week, or month. Is it conditioning or is it just because it feels like a new slate? I like to think it is the latter.

To even begin to contemplate answering his question, I needed to wind back the clock to 2006 when I embarked on Denise Linn’s ‘Soul Coaching’ training in Paso Robles, California (bear with me on this one!). A huge stretch for me and one that I wholeheartedly embraced. I shared the week with some wonderful people, some of whom I am still in touch with.

Stepping Beyond the Comfort Zone

The training opened my eyes to my inner world, one that is so often cast aside. It made me realise that I have all the answers that I need to make my life work, I just need to look deep within myself and clear the debris. You see our reality and ultimate decisions are made from our unique experiences and perceptions of life. And maybe, just maybe, there needs to be a recognition that occasionally our reality could actually be blocking how to get what we want and even deserve in life. I am sure you have heard the saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.” What makes us keep doing the same thing? I believe it is fear. Surely our comfort zone is safer than peeking outside the box?

Never one to stay in my comfort zone, I am currently heading back over to Paso Robles to attend “Advanced Soul Coaching” training. Denise is only running 6 trainings. How blessed am I?

Right now I cannot put into words where my year will go as I don’t know what new insights I will gain on my training. However, what I do know for sure is this.

– I have a life partner who really believes in me, always has my back and continually encourages me to be my very best.
– My recent Ennea International Certification has enabled me to support my clients to see who they are in a very short space of time and how they can be even more authentic.
– The soul coaching after that insight gives me the ability to support people through the discovery they have made, on their chosen journey.
– 2014 was my year for recognising what I really want to offer in my work so therefore my focus is now directed.

With all the saying goodbye to 2014 have you taken a moment to reflect on what you learned in that year and how that can support you in moving forward?

I truly believe that each of us is here to add something positive to the world and for me it’s helping one person at a time to get to a place where they can see how awesome they truly are. We all have gifts, we sometimes just need to shine a light on ourselves to recognise them.

Yes I maybe intrigued to know where this year will take me. I am the master of my own destiny so it stands to reason I have a lot of control. I am also looking forward to the journey and embracing all that it entails and that includes not just peeking, but leaping out of the box. It really is the only way. Are you joining me?
